WCPS Increase Millage Rate Afterall

Facing an unexpected absence of $3.2 million from the local budget, the Walton County Board of Education voted to increase the millage rate at Tuesday’s called meeting. After discussing the budget shortfall in the monthly board work session, the board voted to increase the millage rate to 19.3, more than a percentage point higher than the previously set 18.25, but still below last year’s 19.6 millage rate.

Good Luck Wishes

We're keeping Justin Myers in our thoughts and prayers as he moves away to college this weekend. We wish Justin luck as he embarks on this journey. Justin will study Music at Truett McConnell.

Good Luck, Justin!

And don't forget that classes for Walton County students resume on Monday. Remember that LaFayette Ridge has several bus riders who walk to the bus stop each morning. Please use caution while driving in the neighborhood.

Found Male Black Lab

A neighbor from the Cobblestone subdivision came by today asking if anyone in LaFayette Ridge was missing a black male (unneutered) chocolate lab. The dog has a faded clip-on John Deere collar and has been with the family for almost 2 weeks now. The man can't keep him much longer and will turn him over to a lab rescue group as early as this weekend. If you know the dog, or want to keep him, please let Lauren know and we'll put you in contact with him.
