LaFayette Ridge neighbors are gathering with family and friends today to give thanks for their many blessings and enjoy the fellowship and good eatin' that comes with Thanksgiving.

Ice Skating Comes to Loganville

The CornDawgs are at it again - this time with an ice skating rink in Loganville! The Winter Wonderland will open this Friday, November 27th (at noon) and will feature an ice skating rink, pictures with Santa, marshmallow roast, hot cocoa, Christmas tree farm, real reindeer, trail of lights, hayrides, carriage rides and more.

A special thank you goes out to John Sharp for all his hard work in LaFayette Ridge.

John recently completed the neighborhood entrance repairs by painting both entrances. And, he used his creative talents in designing and building professional sign boards for neighborhood events.

Local Food Drive Set for Thursday

The United States Postal Service will be picking up canned good donations on Thursday, November 19th to benefit the Shepherd's Staff Ministries. USPS postal carriers will pick up non-perishable food items left in (or around) your mailbox.

The Shepherd's Staff Ministries currently provides food to an average of 260 families per month in the Loganville area. Any contributions you make will stay local and help Loganville families in need.

If you have a larger donation (too big for your mailbox), please take those to the Loganville Post Office on the 19th. No glass containers, please.

Neighborhood Entrance Repaired

A very special thank you goes out to Dexter Whaley and family for repairing the rear portion of the main neighborhood entrance. After years of battling the elements, the entrance was showing some wear-and-tear. This picture shows some of the repair work prior to being painted.

Also, thanks to the Taylor family for kicking off the holiday season by putting up lights on the bushes at the front entrance.

Skunk On The Loose

LaFayette Ridge neighbors are advised to close your garages during the evening as a rogue skunk is on the loose in the neighborhood. The Hood's have encountered the stinky critter in their garage. The skunk has sprayed and the smell has permeated through the garage and into their home.

To deter the skunk(s) from entering your garage (or even your home), the best bet may be to close your garage doors, make sure any trash bins are covered securely and have that .22 handy!

Local Lighting Ceremony Planned

The city of Loganville will host a tree lighting ceremony at City Hall on November 27 from 6 - 9 p.m.

The event will include a visit from Santa, the tree lighting, drinks and treats, crafts, activities and more. Children will have a chance to sit and talk with Santa on his sleigh.

No Christmas parade is planned this year for Loganville.
