The Vandals Are Back

The Chandler's lawn decorations were vandalized last night (Wednesday). The Walton County Sheriff's Department has now been called to LaFayette Ridge twice since Saturday. Maybe they'll begin to step up patrols of the neighborhood again.

It appears that the vandals (and perhaps the car burglar) are entering the neighborhood through the back and making their way out the front entrance. The mysterious bike was left at the front entrance with the chain popped off and now the Chandler's house have been hit.

Update: The following homes were "hit": Chandlers, Walsh, Owens, Beverleys and the front entrance.

A neighborhood watch meeting is scheduled for Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the stop sign intersection.

Update: Several neighbors have expressed their interest in attending the neighborhood watch meeting (but are unable to meet Friday night). Therefore, a second meeting will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Neighborhood Car Break-In

LaFayette Ridge's Robert and Vicky Amaro (Skip's old house) woke up Saturday morning to discover their pickup truck had been broken into and the electronic devices and garage door opener stolen. Perhaps the bicycle abandoned at the front of the neighborhood was their mode of transportation into the neighborhood?

Residents are advised to use caution and lock your vehicle doors (and enable your alarms if you have them). Remove electronic devices like GPS systems, laptops, cell phones, iPods (and even your garage door openers) at night.

Report any suspicious people or vehicles to the Walton County Sheriff's Department. School gets out on Thursday, so lets remain vigilant of our homes and neighborhood. The best thing we can do is watch out for each other.
