Shameless Plug #2

Jim has purchased a second rental home. The home is located on Highway 20 in Conyers, about 12 miles from LaFayette Ridge. The home is also not far from Sigman Road, Highway 138 and I-20.

If you know anyone looking for a good place to rent (or lease/purchase), please let us know. The home is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom ranch and will have new paint and appliances.

Walton County Schools - Spring Break Schedule

Walton County students will be out of school for Spring Break during the week of April 5 - 9.

Hopefully our unfriendly visitors/vandals won't return during this time, but LaFayette Ridge residents should remain alert and vigilant.

Spring Cookout Set for May 1st

The LaFayette Ridge spring cookout/ice cream social will be held at Ms. Emma's house on May 1st.

Our HOA dues will cover the cost of hotdogs/hamburgers and buns.

Please let Ms. Emma know if your family plans to attend and what food item(s) you'd like to bring. Don't forget to bring your chairs as well.

Spring Forward This Weekend

Daylight savings time begins this Sunday, March 14 at 2 a.m. Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour Saturday night when you go to bed.

DST is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

The Census is Coming

The 2010 Census will be mailed out next week and should make it to LaFayette Ridge residents between March 15 - 17.

Don't forget to fill it out and mail it back or the Census workers will come knocking in the coming months.

Weather-Related School Closings

Tuesday's minor snow fall caused Walton County Schools to close early. Middle and high school students were released at 11:30 a.m., while elementary school students were released at 12:15 a.m.

School is set to re-open Wednesday morning.
