Armed Robbery Arrest

Garnett Roy Lester arrested for Armed Robbery

Garnett Roy Lester, whose address is listed as 5999 Walker Bennett Road - Loganville, was arrested Wednesday for armed robbery in Gwinnett County. Walker Bennett Road connects McCullers Road (near Johnson Road) and Centerhill Church Road.

While it doesn't appear that the crime occurred in Loganville, it is still nice to know who is living nearby and the crimes they allegedly commit.

Neighborhood Watch Sign Stolen Again

The LaFayette Ridge Neighborhood Watch sign, purchased last year by HOA funds, has been taken for a second time (presumably by our teenage vandals). The sign was last spotted in Barrington Manor and returned to the front entrance at LaFayette Ridge. Neighbors stamped "LaFayette Ridge HOA" on the back in permanent ink and drove the sign deep into the ground - but that didn't deter the vandals.

Also, on Saturday, July 3rd, a sign was spotted at the front of Barrington Manor reading, "Lock your cars. We've had several break-ins recently." Looks like our friends have ventured over to Barrington. Don't forget to lock your vehicle doors, set your alarms and report anyone suspicious to police.

LaFayette's Loch Ness?

Does LaFayette Ridge have it's own version of the Loch Ness monster lurking around? Two neighbors have spotted what they describe as a large cat, possibly a bobcat.

It all started a few months ago when Ms. Emma heard a commotion on her back deck. She went out to see Max the cat cornered by a large, aggressive animal that made a hissing/crying sound.

Then, a few weeks ago, the Finchum's daughter came inside after walking the dog and was described as "white as a ghost." She told her mom that she just saw a "baby lion." The same hissing/crying noises were heard a few moments later.

When Ms. Emma visited the Patty's house, she saw Jim's stuffed bobcat and said that is indeed the animal that cornered Max on the deck.

Have you seen the LaFayette bobcat? Be on the lookout. . .
