Third Neighborhood Home For Sale

Another home in LaFayette Ridge has hit the real estate market. The asking price is $159,900. The home is listed as a short sale. More info is available here.

The home sold on March 10, 2006 for $369,000.

Update: The listing agent, Ron Dickerson, has no affiliation with the bank. He is a real estate agent from Buckhead who is taking offers to the bank independently. He said, "the bank has not approved this price or deal." The offer/price may be rejected by the bank and the home may ultimately end up in foreclosure.

Neighborhood News

The LaFayette Ridge Ladies Night Out was held Monday evening at the Taylor's home. Thanks Maria for hosting us.

The cookout was the main topic of discussion. The Spring cookout will be held on Sat., April 30th at 6 p.m. in Emma's backyard. So far, neighbors have signed up to bring chips, drinks, slaw, baked beans, fixins, banana pudding, and a few desserts. Please let Maria know if your family will attend and what item(s) you'll bring. Our HOA dues will cover the cost of the meat and buns.

Other items discussed: The Thompson's had a large tree/limb slice through their pool pavilion after Saturday's storm. No one was injured. Repairs are needed. And in better news for the Thompson's, their daughter will tie the knot this summer! Congrats!

The fate of the Amaro's home (1612 LaFayette Dr) is up in the air. Their house guest "Rock" is still occupying the home. Robert was seen on Tuesday afternoon moving more of their items. More info to come. . .

Possible Scammers Targeting LaFayette Ridge Neighbors?

The Sharp's received a yellow post card in the mail yesterday from an address in Kennesaw saying they had a package for them and needed a convenient time for them to deliver it. John said he called the number and the lady said she needed a date when both he and Relma would be home and they would give them a $50 restaurant gift certificate if they could just come by and take a water sample.

John took the card to WCWSA and asked them about it and they said they do all of their own water testing but he was familiar with two such “scams”. What those people do is come to your house and try to sell you a water softener or insurance on your water line from the meter to the house.

Beware of possible mail or phone scams.

John and Chance Get the Scoop

Leave it up to LaFayette Ridge's "private eye" - John - to get the scoop on the new neighbors moving into the neighborhood. While out taking a stroll, and enjoying Sunday's beautiful weather, the dynamic duo ran into both sets of new neighbors. Here's the skinny:

Corey and Sara Farmer will close on Bill George’s house on February 22nd and will be doing some repairs/upgrades prior to moving in.

Ricky and Cindy Harrison will soon move into the house behind the Kidd's on March 1st. They have two children - a 15 year old son, and an 11 year old daughter. Cindy’s dad, Lawson Moore, will occupy the basement. Cindy and Rick know some of the people in this neighborhood through their children.
