Something to Think About

Many LaFayette Ridge neighbors have expressed interest in cleaning out their closets and attics and having a neighborhood yard sale in the coming weeks. A recent TV ad by famed Food Network host Sandra Lee brought about the idea of incorporating a bake sale into the festivities.

Why Should You Hold a Bake Sale? (Taken from the GABS Web Site)
1. 100% of the funds you raise help feed kids.
2. Funds you raise from your local bake sale stay local, supporting after-school and summer feeding programs in your community —food programs that hundreds and thousands of kids depend on.
3. It's a fun solution with a large impact.
4. You can host bake sale based on your schedule and in your community. You don't have to train for six months to run a marathon or make a large donation to make a huge difference.

Let's start thinking about an upcoming yard sale (before it gets too hot outside).

  1. I think it's a great idea and we need to start planning now. As soon as we pick a date we should post on Craigslist and anywhere else we can advertise for free.
